blog

Blog: Tues

I feel a huge sense of relief
I feel lucky to be alive to witness what has happened in the U.S. over the last several months.
To witness what happened today. Historical.
We needed this. I needed this.
I need hope.
I feel hope when I see good in human nature.
I have seen it a lot lately.
Out on tour doing in store visits with Timbaland signing posters. Taking pictures. Playing live with his band to fans who were open to a collaboration that is truly unique.
I don't care what anyone says. What we did together is different than anything that has been done before, and I saw goodness in the people that came to the events with the willingness to be open to something different than what they are used to.
Great people. Great fans.
The best fans!
Thank you! C

Awakening

I am a young African American woman who all of my life have enjoyed all genres of music. My appreciation of true artistry has allowed me the opportunity to experience all styles of music except Heavy Metal (always sounded like screaming to me). I remember when I was younger and watching MTV, the "Black Hole Sun" video scared me because it appeared Appocoliptic (LOL). Needless to say I never for once listened to your voice therfore missing out on so many years of the pure, raw genius of it. Not until recently have I discovered you and your songwriting wonderment. I have fallen in love with this soul baring poet who through song and personal tribulation have moved me deeply. I appreciate your contribution and staying true to the essence of your art. In today's music there aren't many selections, when you need something real. Thank you Mr. Cornell and I plan to purchase every body of work you've made or have been a part of. A new fan Millero.

assuredly

that sense of hope is all important, because we all know that there will always be dark days, and somehow it's harder to remember what light was like when you're in the dark. except the afterimage and that always fades in time. but one can inspire a hope that last many many lifetimes.

Oops

Don't know how my comment 'his ugly face' ended up here. I posted it on the thread about George W. Bush stamps and IRS statements. Anway, it gave me a great laugh. Witnessing President Obama being sworn in was just amazing. I feel proud of us again. Liz http://pseudablebliss.blogspot.com/

thanks for all the music

Hi Chris,
I just found your blog and wanted to say I discovered you on Temple of the Dog (  some years ago being a Pearl Jam fan) and was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by your vocals  ( hands down best pipes in rock music...EVER)and have been a huge fan ever since. I applaud and admire  your commitment to being true to yourself and pushing your creative musical boundaries. You were obviously put on this earth to do what you do and have enriched the lives of countless music fans.Even at this point..what a legacy.
I LOVE the idea of the "bush stamp" and like you am excited and very  hopeful for this new  era of american history.
Thanks for adding your personal views here on this blog..personally it's a huge deal when the fans ( like me)  can connect or gain insight  with the artist's  thought processes regardless of the subject or medium.
As a struggling "artist "myself, I am always interested in what makes or inspires the creative process.
Thanks again, your music always increases the euphoric chemicals in my brain...;)
peace and hope in 09,
susan
