something like a petition: cd-dvd live suggest from fans for fans

Ok, the idea was born in the Live topic. Exactly the italian gigs.
Basicly I'm going to repeat what I said in that topic.
Hoping to reach a good number of replies.

I know that somehow, somewere ther's someone of your staff who's gonna read this post. Chris from the bottom of our heart.
YOU NEED TO RELEASE A LIVE DVD-CD
it could be an entire-single concert
it could be something live the pearl jam's live on 2 legs or touring band.
you need it. we need it
everyone in the world must know that your voice is still at top. inspite of any kind of doubt made by your last musical choises (you know the rock.people is so "give-love" and at the same time could be so damn motiveless hater).
I was at Rome last night. I still got chills all over my body.
You've got to do it. For you as a musician, for us as amanzingmusic addicted


and then:
i thought that it would be funny if we as fans would ask it by a sort of a petition in the 4walls of this forum.


You know, i think that anyone here would love it. i also think that it's not an easy work but I hope that chris and his crew will grant our desire.
would be really cool if he would answer this by himself (or someone who represents him)
c'mon let's do it
'till he's gonna say. "OK, I'LL DO IT BUT PLEASE, STOP!" :D

I would love this! I've bought a number of DVDs over the years of artists I love (Heaven and Hell, Motorhead, Dio etc). Chris Cornell is my favourite artist ever, so this would be cool. A triple DVD would be even better with tonnes of rare footage, interviews, etc.

you know chris probably really wants too release one to but its not worth the money. the cost of filming concerts, making a dvd and all that out-way the profits anyone would make.

for a band to bring out a live dvd they need to be REALLY popular, e.g. audioslave had two i think and soundgarden had one. chris just doesnt have enough hardcore fans to make a dvd.

however if he made one for download then that would be cool

I think people would soooo go for a live dvd. the audioslave Cuba thing was OK but not the best CC performance because he was still sick after that throat thing, and there was nothing much dfrom Soundgarden as discussed elsewhere on this baord so YES YES YES!!!!

i don't think it's just a matter of losing money. the first group that comes in my mind is Corrosion of Conformity. they surely don't have much more fans than chris (are we joking? com'on) but they had some live commercial-release.

the last cornell's thing that has been appriciete by EVERYONE in the earth is the acoustic live in stockholm. it became a must-have for every rock fan just because of the quality. zero publicity for that but anyone knows it.
a gorgeus live cd would be appriciete by the fans that in the last time left chris for his choice (i don't like scream but he has the right to do anything he loves to do. i sure wont left the greatest singer of the last 2 decade because of an album... but someone else has already done it so if he wanna bring 'em back (alive) he should do something that no-one can't appriciete)

I would love to see a live CD/DVD released but I dont see it happening since the last few albums didnt sell too well, so there are no indicators that a live cd or dvd would be worth it financially..

While I thought the Smashing Pumpkins 20th Anniversary tour was a joke, I loved the idea that the band recorded EVERY show on CD for the fans who attended any of the shows to buy a live recording of it.

Wouldnt it be sweet if all acts did this.

If Cradle of Filth can release 2 live dvds and a live cd...
Chris Cornell can with ease!!!
A live cd/dvd should definately be released!!!
I saw him live at Download Fest this June...amazing.

I would definately love to see a CD/DVD released, i have Audioslave live in Cuba. Does any band really make much money from CD/DVDs, they reach an audience that may have never seen them live, or get a chance to. A mix from Temple of the Dog to present would be great...

A awesome I have Audioslave in Cuba also...and got a few CC - Soundgarden bootlegs downloaded which are good.
But an official release of a live CD/DVD will be awesome.
Depending on fans....I imagine CC has an awful lot of them, they'll buy them definately.

i think the only problem would be getting togheter a&m (totd - soundgarden) and sony's songs. it could be hard to find a way. maybe. or maybe not.
actually if i were cc's manager (i don't really believe he needs one but if you do chris i'm here :D) it would be my first move to regenerete his image with the fans who think "he let us down".
because i don't think that he loves this situation (who would do?). and in the same time i think that no-one but him can decide to have this commercialoperation.
ok chris, it's 1000$ a month. not a lot, but i'm starting right now :D

How exactly did he let us down?
I hope its not the "he sold out making the Scream album" thing.
Cause I think its an awesome album...different from his other stuff.. but its fresh and beaty and catchy.
His Soundgarden material is different from Euphoria or Carry On..... but all great.

it would be great a live DVD from the euphoria morning album. I saw some bootlegs in youtube and his voice is just awesome

i trie to explain
first of all he didn't let ME down. I don't think he sold out. I just don't like scream at all. but this is a problem of mine. i still love him as an incredible artist

but some fans. i think the gran part of them, they think "he let me down because of this album". i'm not saying they're right or theyr wrong. that's not the matter.
the matter is: theese fans exist and it'd be gracious for him rehaving them.
he's still a rockstar. the scream's songs in tour, their sound is a rock sound. and we cant ignore it.
rock is something that goes over the genre itself.
rock goes from blues to an acoustic song with just a couple of chords. it's surely not scream but i still repeat this is my problem :D
i know that he still rocks, he still has an amazing voice. someone doesn't believe in his voice anymore. a live release would be grace (because of the strenght of his rock, wich still lives in his concerts). that's all

I understand you.
First times I listened to Scream, I didn't like it so much. But Im like that with new albums....Ive listened to it a good number of times...and saw him perform them live, and alot of the songs on Scream should be released on a Greatest Hits...if he'll ever do one!! =P
His voice is amazing still.,..always will be...he is still an icon and a god in his own right...whatever genre. Yes rock is determined by so many things.
Rolling Stones are rock...and yet they do blues and alsorts.
Just takes a good ear and a good perception.

The thing that made Cuba special was its circumstances and the fact that it was a pretty historical thing, playing a concert there. It is a real shame that Chris' voice was a bit under the weather.

It would be cool if they could figure out another extraordinary event or location to do this.

Haven't there been several "professional footage" videos popping up periodically throughout this tour? It would be great if they could "piece meal" these clips into a DVD!

Yeah. There have been many reports (I think) of professional filming of him within live events, over the last few years.
Whatever - I am definitely in for that . . .

i´m from portugal last july chris was here for a gig at optimus alive, but unfortunaly i wasn´t able to go i was sad and blue, cause i don´t know when i´ve got another chance like this. so a live cd-dvd would be nice to watch this amazing artist doind what he does best: sing. can you do it for us chris? we want to have a memory of you so we can show it to our sons, friends and family, come on do it. we´ll apreciate if you agree with us i have all originals cd´s from soundgarden my favorite band of all time but i know the best songs from this great band where wroten by you chris, please make it possible. bring it on.
