Soundgarden's "Black Rain" now available on iTunes
Soundgarden's single "Black Rain" is now available to buy internationally on iTunes.
The unreleased track is taken from forthcoming career retrospective Telephantasm, which will be released on September 28th in the US and September 27th internationally. Drawn from sessions for 1991 album Badmotorfinger, the track has been remixed by producer Adam Kasper at Bad Animals Studio in Seattle with new vocals from Chris Cornell. "What's amazing," Kasper says, "is Chris recorded new vocal bits, and his voice still hits all those notes. You can't tell which vocals are from 20 years ago and which are from today."

Soundgarden is offering their fans in the Chicago area the chance to win tickets to their sold-out show at the Vic Theater on Thursday August 5. This is their first official show billed as Soundgarden in 13 years and the only show they will play before headlining Lollapalooza on Sunday August 8. Tickets and other prizes will be hidden in various locations around Chicago and clues of the band’s whereabouts will be left via Twitter and Foursquare. On August 5, a member of the Soundgarden team will travel the city streets using Foursquare's mobile app to check in at a handful of locations, leaving pairs of tickets and mementos along the way. Soundgarden's "Telephantasm" released September 27/28
Soundgarden will release their first collection of music since 1996, Telephantasm on September 28th in the US and September 27th internationally. This career-spanning retrospective album includes never-before-heard unreleased track “Black Rain,” taken from the Badmotorfinger recording sessions.
The band will be partnering with innovative gaming publisher Activision to release the album on September 28th via A&M/UMe inside 1 million copies of the new videogame Guitar Hero®: Warriors of Rock. This release marks the first time a music album will be simultaneously released and bundled with a video game launch. Additionally, fans will get full access to the band’s new album as downloadable content for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The 12-song disc will then be available on October 5th at all music retail outlets and on the band’s website.
Additionally, on September 28th A&M/UMe will be releasing 3 expanded versions of Telephantasm which will include a double-disc with 12 additional tracks, 5 of which are previously unreleased, and Soundgarden’s first-ever DVD, featuring 20 videos, 13 of which have never been released, a Deluxe 3-LP Vinyl Edition and an individually numbered Super Deluxe Collector’s Edition. The Super Deluxe Collector’s Edition will be available for a limited time and will include 2 CDs, the limited edition DVD, three heavy vinyl discs, a collectible poster, lithos, and much more. These 3 expanded versions will be available at all music retail outlets and on the band’s website.

Dream 2010: A Special Benefit Concert
Chris Cornell will play a benefit concert at the Roxy in Los Angeles on Monday May 3rd at 8pm in aid of the Fulfillment Fund, a charity which helps low-income students to graduate from high school and go on to college.
